Our Services

Perinatal Care

Our Perinatal Care services provide compassionate, continuous support throughout the entire pregnancy journey, from early pregnancy through to birth and the postnatal period. We understand that pregnancy and childbirth can bring unique challenges for women with intellectual, physical, or psychosocial disabilities. Our team of experienced nurses, midwives and support workers work alongside each woman to ensure they receive:

  • Individualised pregnancy care planning tailored to their health, disability, and personal goals

  • Emotional and mental health support throughout pregnancy and post birth

  • Assistance navigating health appointments, hospital visits, and birthing plans

  • Education and information around pregnancy, birth options, breastfeeding, and newborn care

  • Preparation for parenthood, helping to build skills and confidence for the transition to motherhood

Our perinatal services are designed to be gentle, flexible, and woman-led, respecting each person’s choices and cultural preferences.

Parenting Support

Becoming a parent is a life changing experience, and at Nurture Assist, we believe every mother deserves the support to parent in a way that’s right for her. Our Parenting Support services are designed to assist women with disabilities as they adjust to life with a baby and growing family. We offer:

  • In-home practical support with newborn and infant care, including feeding, settling, bathing, and safe sleeping

  • Assistance with establishing daily routines and household organisation

  • Emotional wellbeing and mental health check-ins, recognising the importance of psychological support in early parenthood

  • Guidance on child development, parenting strategies, and connecting with community programs

  • Support with attending maternal child health appointments and playgroups

  • Advocacy and coordination with early childhood services, family support agencies, and NDIS plan management

Our goal is to help mothers feel confident, connected, and capable in their parenting role, with services tailored to their preferences, abilities, and goals.

Community Participation

Whatever you enjoy doing, our team is here to support you in these activities, this could be going to the gym, a stroll in the park or a meal out

Personal Care/Daily Living Life Skills

We provide assistance with daily living activities including showering, toileting, dressing, moving around and meal preparation. Other daily living support icludes transport, shopping, community activities, hobbies, health and fitness

Personalised Service

Nurture Assist recognises each individual and provides supports tailored to your needs. Whether this be a once off or a routine basis, we can provide a service to support you

Nursing and Complex Care

Our Registered Nurses provide expert, around-the-clock care for a wide range of medical needs, including wound care, medication management, and chronic disease support.

Household Tasks

Our team can support you with cleaning, tidying and garden maintence

Home Modification

We offer minor home modifications to custom build changes to your home to help you access and use areas of your home

Nurture Assist is owned and operated by two Registered Nurses.

Helen holds a Bachelor of Nursing, Graduate Diploma of Midwifery and Masters of Health Aministration. Helen has over 30 years experience in healthcare and over 20 years working with families.

Jacquie holds a Certificate of Children's Nursing, Bachelor of Science (Hons), Masters of Nursing, Masters of Health Administration and a Doctor of Philosophy. Jacquie has 25 years experience of working with children in various environments.
